DINE SAFE TORONTO: 22 restaurants get conditional passes this week

This week, our Dine Safe Toronto list includes 22 conditional passes issued to food establishments by Toronto Public Health for crucial and significant Food Premises Regulation infractions.

One or more such infractions were observed at each noted establishment during inspections between Wednesday, Oct. 30 and Tuesday, Nov. 5.

Food establishments in this report include restaurants, food court vendors and takeout food locations.


CONDITIONAL PASS

AFRICA RESTAURANT, 2000 MEADOWVALE RD.

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infraction was observed during an inspection Nov. 4.

• Fail to protect against harbouring of pests.


ALADDIN CHICKEN SHAWARMA, 2900 WARDEN AVE.

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infractions were observed during an inspection Oct. 30.

• Maintain potentially hazardous foods at internal temperature between 4 C and 60 C.

• Fail to ensure food handler in food premise washes hands as necessary to prevent contamination of food.

• Fail to maintain hand-washing stations (liquid soap and paper towels).

• Sanitize utensils in chlorine solution of less than 100 p.p.m. of available chlorine.


ASIAN LEGEND, 900 DON MILLS RD.

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infractions were observed during an inspection Nov. 4.

• Use multi-service articles not of sound and tight construction.

• Fail to protect against breeding of pests.


ATITHI PURE VEG, 1131 MARKHAM RD.

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infractions were observed during an inspection Nov. 4.

• Fail to protect food from contamination or adulteration.

• Fail to protect against harbouring of pests.


BANDIT BREWERY, 2125 DUNDAS ST. W.

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infractions were observed during an inspection Nov. 4.

• Fail to ensure food handler in food premise washes hands as necessary to prevent contamination of food.

• Mechanical equipment not maintained to provide sufficient chemical solution rinse.

• Thermometer in refrigeration equipment not easily readable.


BAWACHI INDIAN CUISINE, 1949 KENNEDY RD.

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infractions were observed during an inspection Nov. 4.

• Fail to protect food from contamination or adulteration.

• Fail to keep toxic substance in compartment separate from food.

• Use hand-washing station other than for hand washing of employees.

• Fail to keep sanitary facility sanitary.


BIG MAN'S PIZZA, 1528 BAYVIEW AVE.

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infractions were observed during an inspection Oct. 31.

•  Fail to protect food from contamination or adulteration.

• Fail to ensure food handler in food premise washes hands as necessary to prevent contamination of food.

• Fail to provide thermometer in refrigeration equipment.

• Fail to protect against harbouring of pests.


CAKEVIEW BAKERY & CAFE, 4186 FINCH AVE. E.

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infractions were observed during an inspection Oct. 28.

• Store potentially hazardous foods at internal temperature between 4 C and 60 C.

• Fail to protect food from contamination or adulteration.

• Use utensils not of readily cleanable material.

• Use utensils not of sound and tight construction.

• Fail to ensure equipment surface cleaned as necessary.

• Fail to maintain hand-washing stations (liquid soap and paper towels).

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infractions were observed during an inspection Oct. 31.

• Store potentially hazardous foods at internal temperature between 4 C and 60 C.

• Fail to protect food from contamination or adulteration.

• Fail to ensure equipment surface cleaned as necessary.

• Hand-washing stations not conveniently accessible by food handlers.


HYDERABAD PALACE DOWNTOWN, 234 PARLIAMENT ST.

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infractions were observed during an inspection Oct. 30.

• Display potentially hazardous foods at internal temperature between 4 C and 60 C.

• Fail to maintain hand-washing stations (liquid soap and paper towels).

• Fail to provide hand-washing stations with adequate supplies (hot and cold water).

• Fail to provide hot and cold running water in food preparation area.

• Fail to equip sanitary facility with soap or detergent.

• Fail to protect against breeding of pests.


KOBI KOREAN RESTAURANT, 710 YONGE ST.

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infractions were observed during an inspection Nov. 1.

• Fail to protect food from contamination or adulteration.

• Use food equipment not in good repair.

• Fail to remove wastes when necessary to maintain sanitary condition.


MILAGRO RESTAURANT AND CANTINA, 50 JOHN ST.

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infractions were observed during an inspection Nov. 4.

• Use utensils not in good repair.

• Fail to protect against breeding of pests.


NEGRIL'S JERK HUT, 1730 LAWRENCE AVE. E.

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infractions were observed during an inspection Nov. 5.

• Fail to protect food from contamination or adulteration.

• Fail to ensure food handler in food premise washes hands as necessary to prevent contamination of food.

• Fail to ensure equipment surface cleaned as necessary.

• Hand-washing stations not conveniently accessible by food handlers.

• Fail to keep sanitary facility sanitary.
